AVAIO Biography

Seven Avaio was born in Munich in 1971 with the civil name Sven Friese. He began learning guitar in 1981 at the age of 11 and started composing music in 1985 in his home recording studio near Versailles near Paris. In the following years he played electric guitar in the German band The Noiseboys, whose members met at the German School in Paris, followed by the international band Safahyn. He also worked as a guitar teacher. His first solo project Mr. Frost served to learn production techniques in the studio on a Fostex multitrack recorder with the still current overdub technique and to record his compositions on guitar, bass, synthesizer and a Roland TR-505 drum machine which was later used by the dance house electronic producer duo Milk & Sugar. At that time, Avaio was increasingly interested in progressive rock, grunge and prog metal, but also in epic rock music à la Pink Floyd.

In 1990, he returned to Germany to study audio engineering at SAE Munich. He financed his studies by working as an AV technician at Bavaria Film Munich. In 1992 he played lead guitar in the band Foozspray. In 1994 he began to learn drums and various percussion instruments. In 1995, he modernized his composition work by purchasing a KORG Trinity workstation with sequencer and digital recorder. In 1999, this was replaced by the computer-based digital audio workstation Steinberg Cubase VST and in 2000 by the high-end media production system Steinberg Nuendo. The Trinity workstation thus mutated into a MIDI master control keyboard. The Fostex 160 multitrack recorder was subsequently used by Peter Maffay's Tabaluga music production manager.

In 2005, Avaio co-founded the percussion group Living Drums and produced Living Drums' first album in 2008 and their second longplayer in 2010. During this time they played in front of large audiences such as at the Sinnflut Festival, Sonnenrot Festival, Uferlos Festival, the Falkner Spectaculum as well as at company parties and weddings. In 2009 Avaio founded the jam band Heizpilz, which produced numerous live recordings.
